Nearly a decade later, following the introduction of the ECE 22.06 safety standard, SHOEI unveils the J•O2, an evolution that respects its iconic design but now offers enhanced safety, versatility, and refined design details.
One of the most noticeable updates is the addition of three rivets above the viewport, allowing riders to attach a peak or bubble visor. This change, by
far the most requested by riders, opens up entirely new use cases: from vintage street racing and classic MotoX to urban cruising and American V-twin riding. It’s a helmet that now fits more styles, more bikes, and more riders. The J•O2 also brings a few subtle design flourishes that reinforce its premium, custom aesthetic. From a refined goggle belt with a specially designed snap button to a vintage-inspired interior label, every detail has been considered to give this helmet both character and class.
At the heart of the J•O2’s versatility is the new CJ-4 visor system. It’s discreet, retractable, and transforms your helmet in seconds. Want the clean, open-face look? The visor disappears almost entirely into the helmet. Need protection
on the fly? Simply drop the visor for instant coverage, perfect for those unexpectedly long rides that stretch into the evening or when sunglasses just won’t cut it. The visor’s unique shape includes a curved lower edge designed to reduce wind turbulence and eye irritation. It also features a three-position adjustment system, allowing riders to customise the fit based on face shape, nose length, or personal preference.
With six available lens options: including clear, dark tint, high-definition yellow, Spectra Gold, Spectra Silver, and photochromatic, the CJ-4 offers unmatched flexibility to match any style or riding condition.
Long rides demand long-lasting comfort, and the J•O2 delivers. Inside, you’ll find a fully removable and washable interior made of premium polyurethane foams and ultra-soft fabric designed for a snug, cosy fit.
To maintain the classic appearance while maximising function, the padding features high-quality synthetic leather accents: matte (nubuck) around the visor area to reduce glare, and glossy leather at the base for durability and easy cleaning.
Eyewear users will also appreciate the integrated eyeglass channels, and the entire fit system is compatible with optional padding for those who want to
fine-tune the feel. Every detail, from the stitching to the materials to
